Join us for an insight into life as a college rugby player as we welcome one of the foremost coaches in the States, Craig Wlson, the Director of Rugby at Yale University. Originally from Scotland, Craig has been in the role at Yale since 2019, having been assistant coach from 2015, bringing a strong rugby background from his time coaching in England and Hong Kong. He is also known as ‘The Contact Coach’ and a leading rugby analyst, now with 60,000 Instagram followers, reviewing collegiate, club and test match rugby. Yale is one of the most prestigious universities in the world, and a member of the Ivy League conference. It has an incredible academic reputation, and Craig will discuss the opportunities to study at Yale, while being recruited as a rugby player to their program, bringing his wealth of experience and knowledge to the webinar.

Dave Rollins is a Hall of Fame swimmer at the University of Arizona, and now Head Coach at NCAA DI Florida Gulf Coast University, where he had guided the program to two Conference Championships in his first two years. Bringing a wealth of experience and pedigree to the role, he’d been assistant head coach at Ohio State University, one of the leading swim programs in the country, and is one of the most respected swim coaches in the States. The webinar will cover a range of topics, discussing life as a collegiate swimmer, insights into NCAA DI recruitment, competition and athlete development, the NCAA as a platform to develop Olympic swimmers and divers, the transition from elite swimmer to Head Coach and a look back at Dave’s own impressive collegiate swimming career.

Stanford University is one of the world’s most recognized academic institutions, ranked No.1 in the United States and No. 2 globally. We are delighted to be joined by Stanford’s Director of Rugby and Head Coach Richard Ashfield, who will be our special guest on an upcoming webinar to discuss playing and studying at one of the best universities in the world. Richard, who also served as Interim Head Coach of the USA Women’s Rugby National Team, is now in his eighth season at Stanford and has guided the men’s program to two USA Rugby College 7s National Championships, and a Pac 12 top 4 appearance in 2022. He has also been integral to the continued success of Stanford Women’s Rugby as a national contender in USA Rugby Women’s Division 1, the USA Rugby College Fifteens Final Four and a playoff appearance in each of his years at Stanford.
