Warwick School joins FirstPoint USA’s Schools Partnership Programme to offer its students life-changing sports scholarship opportunities in the USA.
FirstPoint is pleased to announce that Warwick School – regarded as the oldest independent boys’ school in England - has signed a landmark partnership agreement to join its elite portfolio of partnering schools in the UK.
This partnership means that Warwick School’s students will be able to take advantage of FirstPoint’s world-leading scholarship programme, which gives students access to 2,500 universities and colleges in the USA.
FirstPoint is a global leader within the scholarship agency sector with a proven record of success, having placed over 8,000 student athletes on scholarships since 2001. These scholarships have ‘changed lives’ for many talented young men and women by enabling them to be the best they can be - an ethos embedded in FirstPoint as many of its staff have either benefitted from US scholarships or have been college players, coaches, teachers or professional athletes themselves. Also, several former pupils from Warwick School have achieved accolades on the sports pitch which means the school is a great fit for FirstPoint’s partnership programme.
Warwick School has a proud tradition of developing successful young adults with recent sporting success stories that include National Cup wins for its First XV rugby squads during the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons. Academically, the school participates in several Olympiads, with pupils from Warwick regularly being selected for squads participating in international Olympiads across multiple subjects. It’s this combination of achieving academic and sporting excellence that makes the pupils at Warwick School strong candidates for US college sport scholarships.
Through the partnership, FirstPoint and Warwick School will work together across several events and initiatives to ensure that pupils interested in studying in the USA are guided carefully through the scholarship process and provided with all the information and support they require.
Dean Kelbrick, Head of Partnerships and Scouting at FirstPoint USA says: “Students are always in safe hands with FirstPoint as we not only take the time to place students with the right-fit US university or college but provide a safe supportive environment for them and their families from initial recruitment through to graduation, which can typically be a 4-year sponsorship”.
Tom Pierce, Director of Rugby at Warwick School says: “We are excited to form a new partnership with FirstPoint and look forward to seeing the partnership supporting our young student-athletes by enabling them to further their education and sports aspirations over in the USA. Many of our pupils are very strong academically and will move through into higher education in the UK. However, I know that there’s an increasing move for some of our sporting pupils to explore the fantastic opportunities America has to offer”.
Dean Kelbrick concludes: “It’s fantastic for us to be working with a prestigious school like Warwick, which has a rich history of success both academically and athletically. Warwick School regularly competes at the highest level in rugby, golf and swimming and we can’t wait to work with them to create a pathway for its pupils to experience the life-changing opportunities we provide through our US sports scholarship programme.”
In addition to Warwick School, FirstPoint has partnered with several other senior independent schools, grammar schools and colleges in the UK who, like FirstPoint, care passionately about providing life-changing opportunities that enable students to be the best they can be.
