We'd like to welcome Cameron Smith to the FirstPointUSA family. We caught up with Cameron to discuss his back ground and his thoughts on becoming a student athlete in the USA.
I have played sports such as badminton and squash in my spare time but currently I am the quarterback for my University American football team (Edinburgh Napier Knights) and also play for a local soccer team in Edinburgh. I have recently finished my fourth season for my local summer soccer team Blanefield Thistle F.C., where I won player of the year for a second year running.
I want to go to the States on a scholarship and i see it as a new adventure and I have always wanted to live in the USA at some point and see what the lifestyle is like.
Becoming a student athlete, I think the biggest part that I am looking forward is the professionalism of the set up and how serious I need to take it, although it is going to be a big change and a shock at first, I believe I will thrive under the pressure both on and off the field
